Description

Crown Estate Scotland is seeking a contractor (including joint or consortia bids) to lead a two-stage process of engagement, dialogue, research and planning that will, ultimately, generate one or more reports and/or other suitable format outputs that will inform future directions for local development and land management in and around the Estate. This work will build on previous work Crown Estate Scotland has carried out with tenants and other partners over the years as well as existing and emerging contextual information, such as the Cairngorms Local Development Plan, emerging Regional Land Use Partnerships and Spatial Strategies. The aim of the overall project is to identify how the Glenlivet Estate can best adapt for the future in a way that supports local jobs and investment, attracts the next generation, improves the environment, and helps to address the challenges of the climate emergency and nature crisis. The project will consider a long-term vision to 2050 and identify specific opportunities and recommendations for the next five years. The final outputs may include a long-term strategy or ‘master plan’ and action plan for delivery. Meaningful engagement with local stakeholders, including tenants, the community, local groups, children and young people, and local businesses and employers, will be essential throughout Stages 1 & 2 to help inform and shape the project and its overall outcomes through a co-produced approach. Natural capital is the world's stock of natural resources, which includes geology, soils, air, water and all living organisms. Natural capital 'assets' such as habitats and ecosystems provide a wide range of benefits to human wellbeing, known as ecosystem services[1]. It is expected that the overall aim of the project will be achieved by approaching relevant elements through the lens of Natural Capital, in such cases seeking to deliver project outcomes by considering their impact on Natural Capital flows and, importantly, the consequences for tenants and their enterprises, stakeholders and Crown Estate Scotland.
