Description
The Council is seeking to enter into a contractual arrangement with a contractor to provide processing, pre-treatment, treatment and/or disposal of contract waste arising from the Council’s household and commercial kerbside and bring bank collection services and/or emptying of bring banks. Recycling of household and commercial food waste at a dedicated recycling site. This waste will be separately collected at the kerbside by the Council and delivered to Bexley Thames Road Transfer Station (BTRTS) and can be either: — bulk collected by the contractor and delivered directly to the contractor’s recycling site, — bulk delivered by the Council directly to the contractor’s recycling site. Recycling of household and commercial food waste and packaged food waste at a dedicated recycling site. This waste will be separately collected at the kerbside by the Council and delivered to Bexley Thames Road Transfer Station (BTRTS) and can be either: — bulk collected by the contractor and delivered directly to the contractor’s recycling site. — bulk delivered by the Council directly to the contractor’s recycling site. Recycling of household and commercial garden waste at a recycling site that is: — option 1: delivered to the BTRTS and collected by the contractor or bulk delivered by the Council to the contractor’s recycling site, — option 2: delivered to an alternative transfer station (ATS) proposed by the contractor prior to onward bulk delivery by the contractor to the contractor’s recycling site, — option 3: delivered by the Council directly to a recycling site located in Zone A in Clause 4.1 of Volume 4 of the contract. Recycling of household, school and commercial kerbside collected material at a dedicated recycling site. This waste can be either: — bulk collected by the contractor from Bexley Thames road Transfer Station (BTRTS) and delivered to an alternative transfer station (ATS) or the contractor’s recycling site, — bulk delivered by the Council to an alternative transfer station (ATS) or the contractor’s recycling site, — delivered by the Council in individual loads to an alternative transfer station (ATS) or the contractor’s recycling site. Recycling of household, school and commercial co-mingled paper and cardboard at a dedicated recycling site. This waste can be either: — bulk collected by the contractor from Bexley Thames road Transfer Station (BTRTS) and delivered to an alternative transfer station (ATS) or the contractor’s recycling site. — bulk delivered by the Council to an alternative transfer station (ATS) or the contractor’s recycling site, — delivered by the Council in individual loads to an alternative transfer station (ATS) or the contractor’s recycling site. Recycling of household, school and commercial mixed glass containers at a dedicated recycling site. This material will be bulk collected by the contractor from Bexley Thames Road Transfer Station (BTRTS). Recycling of glass containers, segregated by colour, collected from bring banks.This waste will be delivered by the Council to an alternative transfer station (ATS) proposed by the contractor or directly to a recycling site, both must be located in Zone A, B or C in Clause 4.1 of Volume 4 of the specification. Recycling of the following household, school and commercial kerbside waste at a dedicated recycling site: 1) Glass containers, plastic containers, cans and beverage containers; 2) Plastic containers, cans and beverage containers; 3) Paper, cardboard, container glass, plastic packaging, cans and beverage containers; 4) Segregated mixed cans. This waste will be delivered by the Council to an alternative transfer station (ATS) proposed by the contractor or directly to the contractor’s recycling site. Both must be located in Zone A as in Clause 4.1 of Volume 4 of the specification. The emptying of bring banks throughout the contract area including the collection and transportation of the following material streams that must be kept separate from each other: — co-mingled paper and cardboard, — glass containers segregated (by colour), and — mixed cans. The collected materials are to be delivered to either the Bexley Thames Road Transfer Station (BTRTS), an alternative transfer station (ATS) or the contractor’s recycling site. This lot also includes the annual LOLER Inspections of all the Councils bring banks.
