NRGC WM - Natural Rivers and Green Corridors Woodland Management

The aim of the Natural Rivers and Green Corridors project is to utilise European funding from the European Regional Development Fund to enable the project's partners (Birmingham City Council (the Council), the Environment Agency & the Wildlife Trust for Birmingham and the Black Country) to implement a comprehensive, strategic and co-ordinated package of activities that will have a significant positive impact on surface area of habitats attaining better conservation status. By improving the resilience of the habitats, the project contributes to improved ecosystem services delivery, environmental quality and health and well-being outcomes. The project involves creation of new wildlife habitats and enhancement of existing habitats. This tender seeks to procure woodland and tree works in open spaces along the corridors of Callow Brook, River Rea, Merritt's Brook and Griffin's Brook in south Birmingham. These works will include pollarding, crown lifting, thinning, coppicing and removal of non-native woody species, with the aim of enhancing habitat structure within the woodlands and wooded watercourse corridors and improving biodiversity. The successful supplier is required to deliver the works identified in the quotation and supporting maps by the timescale specified. All work must be completed in line with BS3998 2010 British Standard for Tree Work. This contract will be for a period of 3 months commencing 16th January 2023 until 31st March 2023 The Council will be using its free to use e-tendering system (in-tend) for the administration of this procurement process and potential suppliers must register with the system to be able to express an interest.
