Planning the Heritage-Led Regeneration of the west end of Fair Street, Drogheda, County Louth (2023) (1)

Published

Description

Louth County Council, with the support of the ‘Love Drogheda’ BID office, has applied for Historic Towns Initiative funding for a Heritage-led Regeneration Study of the western end of Fair Street, Drogheda and immediately adjacent part of George’s Street/Square. This project complements the adjacent and much larger "West Gate Vision". Experienced, specialist consultants are now required to assess both the existing building stock and vacant spaces and provide detailed plans for their Heritage-led Regeneration, specifically for the creation of much needed housing. The project will produce detailed plans for Heritage-led regeneration works on the site. These would form the basis for applications for planning permission and for a substantive funding application to the Historic Towns Initiative (and other funding sources) in 2024. We require the services of a fully-integrated team, led by a Grade I Conservation Architect, to design a Heritage-led Regeneration Project for the western end of Fair Street and adjacent areas of George’s Street/Square in Drogheda, County Louth. The Heritage Led Regeneration Project will result in the design, costing and submission of planning and other statutory consent(s) applications. Other outputs may include proposals for integrated high quality and multi functional amenity spaces and pedestrian infrastructure.
